I have an accounting degree and I am an enrolled agent, which means that I am licensed by the IRS. In order to receive my license, I had to pass a two day exam on taxes and a thorough background check. To keep my license, I must have 30 hours of continuing education credits every year in tax law and preparation.
Before starting my practice, I had several years of experience working for companies ranging in size from a few employees to a thousand employees. I started out working in accounting departments and progressed to accounting manager, assistant controller, controller and corporate treasurer.
I have experience with many types of service companies, construction contractors, residential rental property (houses, apartments and condos), commercial rental property (office buildings and warehouses), accounting during the construction phase for professional buildings, schools and hospitals, and I am very familiar with Mary Kay consultants and directors.
